Preparing for home cleaning: agree the details first
Prepare your home cleaning request with clear information about rooms, tasks, access and the schedule.
Start with rooms and priorities
List the rooms to be cleaned and the tasks that matter most to you. Explain whether you need a one-off visit or want to discuss regular cleaning. Describe the kitchen, bathroom, floors and accessible surfaces separately.
Separate cleaning from clearing and tidying
Agree which surfaces should be clear and what you will tidy beforehand. Moving heavy furniture, removing belongings or clearing a property is not automatically included in a cleaning visit. Discuss additional work before it starts.
Discuss materials, supplies and access
Mention delicate floors, special finishes, pets and excluded rooms. Agree who provides cleaning products and equipment. Share keys or entry codes only through an appropriate personal arrangement; do not include them in an online request.
Record the scope and price
Ask for a proposal specifying the tasks, frequency and price. Check which additional tasks are charged separately and how changes should be reported. A request is not a confirmed assignment: start with clear agreed arrangements.
Keep attachments relevant
A floor plan can help explain the layout. Remove names, security details and other confidential information. Only include a document if it is needed to explain your cleaning requirements.
